About the role
Build and maintain GitLab's authorization system controlling user and token access. Work on Ruby on Rails and transition to a Rust policy engine.
What you’ll do
• Implement authorization changes in Ruby on Rails monolith. • Deliver feature-flagged workstreams with senior guidance. • Build and extend fine-grained token permissions. • Ensure GraphQL and REST APIs enforce permissions. • Investigate and fix reliability, performance, and security issues.
What you’ll bring
• 2-4 years Ruby on Rails production experience. • Experience with authorization concepts. • Security mindset treating permission bugs as security bugs. • Familiarity with GraphQL or API authorization. • Work authorization for hiring location.
