About the role
Build and evolve data frameworks and tooling to keep GitLab's datastores scalable and healthy. Focus on data growth controls and lifecycle management for GitLab.com and self-managed instances.
What you’ll do
• Develop backend features and data frameworks for scalable data management. • Design data retention and lifecycle management frameworks. • Build guardrails to catch unsustainable data growth patterns. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-performing solutions. • Review database changes ensuring data integrity and performance.
What you’ll bring
• Experience with PostgreSQL in large production environments. • Proficiency with Ruby on Rails or similar Ruby frameworks. • Strong software design and performance reasoning skills. • Excellent written communication for asynchronous remote work. • Self-directed with strong organizational skills.
