About the role
Join Loft Orbital as a Thermal & Manufacturing Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. Work hands-on with thermal interface materials used in spacecraft assembly, improving processes from CAD to physical parts.
What you’ll do
• Plan and conduct trials comparing materials and cutting methods. • Evaluate cut quality and contamination risks. • Develop repeatable workflow from CAD to assembly kits. • Create work instructions and inspection checklists. • Present findings and recommend materials and processes.
What you’ll bring
• Pursuing degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials or Manufacturing Engineering. • Proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software. • Hands-on fabrication or test experience. • Ability to plan experiments and analyze data. • Strong written communication and problem-solving skills. • Work authorization for US.
